Cowboys Against Cancer Fundraiser,
Rock Springs Wyoming
November 5, 2011
It was a cold snowy day when Dyana and Angel rode into the small town of Rock Springs Wyoming for the annual Cowboys Against Cancer benefit. The hall was filled with 850 generous Wyoming residents who came to show their support for cancer patients needing financial help in getting to their cancer treatments. The governor, ex-governor, senator and many more local officials were in attendance.
General Electric unveiled their new “Wyoming Women First” program, utilizing mobile mammography units to roll through the remote parts of Wyoming ensuring that every woman is able to get her annual mammogram.
Two prints of “Every Day is a Good Day”, commissioned by Angel Frolander in memory of her husband Jeff, were offered for live auction. Together they brought $6,200! The first print was purchased by the doctors of the Wyoming Cancer Foundation, and will hang in their offices for patents to enjoy in Riverton, Wyoming. The evenings total was approximately $500,000 which will go directly to cancer patients of Sweetwater County.
A special thank you to Marty and Debbie Dirst, and Al and Faith Harris, for your hospitality. Thank you, Margaret Parry, for having the vision to create such an amazing event for such an important cause.
