*Shaohannah’s Hope, Circle of Love is a special painting created by Dyana Hesson to signify a family created through adoption.  Although the tulips are different colors they are unified in  the eternal symbol of the circle.  Dyana, being adopted herself hopes to illustrate how beautiful these families are, and to compel her audience to consider adoption for their families.

Shaohannah’s Hope is a charity that was founded by Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman that is dedicated to helping prospective adoptive parents overcome the financial barriers associated with adoption.  They accomplish this by awarding financial grants to qualified families already in the process of adopting.

Adoptions can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $35,000, so there is a real need to overcome these financial barriers and link generous hearts with willing families waiting for children.

“Framing our First Five Years, Focusing on the Future”
October 12, 2007

Location: Bonner David Galleries

October 12th marked a milestone for Bonner David Galleries; celebrating a 5th year anniversary as well as a grand re-opening of their newly expanded gallery space. Clients, friends, artists and family celebrated the redesigned spaces and enjoyed the newest works from the talented Bonner David artists. The refined landscapes of Romona Youngquist, skyscapes of Rich Bowman as well as the botanicals of Dyana Hesson, and the crisp still lifes of Cary Ennis and Katherine Lemke Waste looked sophisticated in the traditional side of the gallery. Filling the contemporary wing were the bold abstracts of Max Hammond and Quim Bove’, along with the colorful block imagery of Carol Redmond and fantasy figures of Ellen Skidmore and Bradford Brenner. While sipping wine and enjoying tasty hors d'oeuvres from Binkley’s the crowd was treated to the unveiling of the latest visual biography by mixed media artist Christi Manuelito. All in attendance agreed the event was a rousing success!

This causal event brings women together in a unique setting to share their business endeavors with other successful women. Dyana Hesson, the guest speaker is a true perfectionist at heart; she captures the essence of flowers and cacti as they exist in nature, patiently waiting for the perfect shadows to compliment each image. She uses her talent to glorify the beauty of creation as her realistic botanicals are full with radiant colors and dazzling detail. Hesson has been profiled in Phoenix Home & Garden, American Art Collector and Southwest Art, and boasts collectors nationwide. She will be sharing her love for art and how she became a successful artist while still being a loving mother and wife. Please join us for a fun, exciting and motivational late afternoon.

CIVA Arizona 2007

In Spring 2007, the Christians in Visual Arts student group at Arizona State University invited Dyana Hesson as a practicing Alumni from ASU, to speak to the group. Some of the topics discussed were:

-What was your experience like at ASU and how did it help in giving you knowledge for your career today?  Do you have any suggestions or additions to what you experienced?

-What steps did you take after graduating and even during your senior year?  Share some testimonies of how God blessed you and what you might have had to overcome?

-What have been some of the hard and unexpected things that this career has brought, and what it rewarding?

-What are your day to day activities and how are you able to minister to and direct people to God through your work?

The students were inquisitive and benefited greatly from the information that Dyana provided. A few students were also encouraged that Dyana’s story mirrored theirs, as she also started her artistic pursuit in college. This testimony of the different seasons of Dyana’s art career gave the students a bigger picture to look forward to in the creative world, no matter where they were in their journey. CIVA greatly appreciated this opportunity looks forward to more meetings in the future.
